ZBD extends international partner network to Italy

Italian retail software solutions specialist Proxima Centauri Informatica srl has joined ZBD’s fast-growing VISION international partner programme. Ascot, UK-based ZBD, a leading designer and supplier of electronic point of purchase (EPOP) displays and associated software solutions, introduced its VISION programme earlier this year to extend its reach into international markets.
Founded in 1989 by a group of Italian retail sector specialists, Proxima Centauri delivers software solutions for companies operating in the mass and specialist retail sectors, selling directly and through specialised regional partners across Italy. The company’s expertise focuses on projects where complex hardware and software integration is critical, providing intranet web-adapted solutions by leveraging the IT industry's latest innovations and technologies. In addition to ZBD its partners include NCR, Wincor-Nixdorf, Bizerba and Omega.
A key driver in the approach from Proxima Centauri and subsequent cooperation, according to David Rogers, VP sales and marketing at ZBD, was the Italian company’s prior experience with electronic shelf edge labels (ESELs) and its innovative store supply chain management software capable of offering warehouse-to-basket stock visibility.
ZBD’s VISION programme is designed to attract partners keen to play a strategic role in delivering sophisticated store solutions to the retail market, particularly in Europe and the United States.
