ZBD takes new technology to Greece as retail market consolidates
26 May 2010

ZBD, the epaper for retail specialist, has announced that it will partner with ICS, a provider of  technology solutions to the Greek retail market, to offer the growing number of large retailers in Greece a more efficient and effective way of displaying goods for sale.

ICS will introduce ZBD’s epaper solution to Greek retailers as a viable replacement for segment electronic shelf labels, which have limited functionality. ZBD’s electronic point of purchase (epop) displays are multi-functional, attractive and can display rich content, making them ideal for retailers who want to maximise the way that they display brand, price and promotion to customers.

Stratos Karafyllis, Managing Director of ICS, said, “There is a real appetite for epaper in the Greek market and we chose ZBD because of its low touch infrastructure; a single Bounce wireless device can run an entire estate of epop displays so retailers can install the solution very quickly, without disturbing the efficient running of the store.”

ICS was also impressed by the fact that ZBD controls all aspects of its supply chain and manufacturing processes and is in full control of its product roadmap, making it the obvious choice for any retailer looking for a long-term ESL (electronic shelf label) solution.

ZBD’s presence in mainland Europe has grown significantly over the last year, with successful customer implementations in France, Italy, Hungary, Switzerland and Norway.

David Rogers, Sales & Marketing Director, ZBD, said, “The rate of consolidation in the Greek retail market and the emergence of much larger players, means that demand is growing fast for electronic display solutions that will enable retailers to manage multiple stores efficiently and responsively, as well as offer an improved customer experience.”
